Supplier Match Program

Supplier Match Program

The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) has launched an internal supplier match initiative which will further its efforts to create Georgia business-to-business opportunities. Companies seeking a competitive edge through the identification of local suppliers have a new and comprehensive source of information through the Supplier Match Program.

Key elements and benefits:

  • Another way to link Georgia companies with getting their products or services into the marketplace
  • Another value add to the many services GDEcD offers Georgia companies
  • Another avenue to market Georgia companies
  • Another relationship connection with GDEcD Project Managers and Georgia companies

A value add to existing businesses and recruitment efforts:

Existing businesses:

      • Bottom-line impact by offering to help locate Georgia suppliers – those closer to home - to alleviate transportation and associated costs
      • Expansion costs impacted
      • Any size business applies

New business recruitment:

      • Another selling tool for why Georgia is the ideal location
  • Addresses legislative concerns on how Georgia businesses, especially smaller businesses, can be helped in more ways
  • Dedicated staff will focus on this service

Outcomes:

  • New business opportunities for Georgia companies
  • New and better data captured with each Supplier Match search:
  • Closed companies – updates to databases
  • Contract manufacturers listing – meeting a need for Georgia’s entrepreneurs
  • Potential business development leads
  • Identifying products or services not available in Georgia and recruiting them to the state
