About Us

The video game development industry is a major component of the entertainment mix in Georgia. The state is leading the way in becoming a “hot spot” in the thriving and powerful digital entertainment industry with jobs and capital. The casual games market, as well as the growth of educational, mobile and massively multiplayer online gaming (MMOG) has led to the emergence of interactive design studios in Georgia.

With this rising industry trend, the Georgia state legislature recently enacted tax code changes allowing digital entertainment producers, including companies outside of the state, to gain new savings on products developed in Georgia. Georgia's Entertainment Industry Investment Act offers one of the highest level of incentives for the video game industry in the nation at 30%.

Georgia has a close-knit digital media industry, comprising about 70 companies and more than 2,000 workers, who produced an economic impact of about $71.8 million last year. The state is also home to some of the nation’s best university video game development programs with 14 colleges offering graduate and undergraduate game development curriculum.

Georgia is on a mission to grow the video game industry, and so far have had quite a bit of success in terms of raising awareness. There has also been a large number of startups and mergers that have grown the industry here.

Emerging industries such as game development, animation and interactive entertainment are booming all across the state and in the fast-paced entertainment industry, Georgia is gaining access to the right assets that are necessary to surpass the competition, accelerate innovation, and achieve economic success.
