Film Production in Georgia

Now Filming in Georgia

The Georgia Entertainment Industry Investment Act has helped make Georgia a hub for accomplished producers, award-winning actors and cutting-edge film technology. Filmmakers can enjoy unbridled artistic freedom with the state’s vast and comprehensive film infrastructure, and aspiring actors can make their names known through a variety of immersive hands-on educational programs. The film industry has brought as much as $4 billion a year to the Georgia economy and created countless jobs in the process.

Georgia’s recent and current productions top the list as some of the most successful in the industry. One of Netflix’ flagship horror series, Stranger Things, is being filmed in Atlanta and surrounding cities like Fayetteville, Winston, and Palmetto. Ozark, the tense crime drama starring Jason Bateman, just finished production at Lake Lanier in 2021. And The Staircase, based on the 2004 French docuseries of the same name, was filmed in the Atlanta area as well.
