Asher Dozier serves in a dual capacity as Director for Economic Development for the University of Georgia (UGA) and Energy Engagement Lead at UGA’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government, aligning the University of Georgia with the needs of Georgia business and industry. Asher works to ensure that UGA’s education, research, and engagement efforts are responsive to current and emerging workforce demands. Prior to joining UGA, he served as Vice President of Economic Development for the Newton County Industrial Development Authority, supporting economic and workforce development initiatives in the county and region. A lifelong Georgian, Asher earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Troy University. He and his wife Karen reside in Covington with their children.
