Georgia-filmed “Gemini Man” Impacts Georgia in a Big Way
Atlanta, GA - Opening in theaters today is the action-packed thriller “Gemini Man.” Directed by Academy Award winning director Ang Lee and starring Will Smith, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Clive Owen – this feature film production spent more than $26.5 million while filming in Georgia from February 26 through April 12, 2018. Think about that for a second – they only filmed in Georgia for 46 days and SPENT $26.5 million while in our state. In those 46 shooting days – they used more than 330 vendors (mostly small businesses) in 64 Georgia cities (see list below). Plus, they hired 400 Georgians to work on this feature film.

Georgia has quickly become one of the top filming locations in the world. This is just one example of the impact a film or television production has across our state. In fact, 391 productions filmed in Georgia including 26 feature films, 31 independent films, 214 television series, 91 commercials and 29 music videos during FY19 (July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019). These 391 productions spent a record $2.9 billion in our state.
