Georgia's 2018 Cyber Circuit
We recently hosted the first-ever 2018 Georgia Cyber Circuit. This event showcased Georgia's robust cybersecurity industry, and provided cybersecurity companies, community leaders, and academic officials from the Washington D.C. with an opportunity to learn about the cyber ecosystems in Augusta and Atlanta. It's no secret that Georgia has made incredible leaps in the cybersecurity industry. In fact, Georgia now serves as one of the nation's elite cybersecurity hubs, ranking third in the nation for information security, and generating more than $4.7 billion in annual revenue. More than 115 cybersecurity firms call Georgia home, including Cybersecurity 500-ranked Secureworks, Pindrop, NexDefense and Ionic Security. Through education and innovation happening at institutes across the state, Georgia's cybersecurity environment helps to insure that digital records and materials remain private.
The Cyber Circuit featured a welcome reception hosted by our fantastic economic development partners Georgia EMC, Georgia Power, Electric Cities of Georgia, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber. It also included tours of Fort Gordon -- the future home of US Army Cyber Command; and the Georgia Cyber Center -- the State of Georgia's new $100 million cyber training and innovation facility. The event concluded with a hard hat tour of CODA, a 645,000-square-foot business innovation and institutional research facility that is being constructed in Tech Square.
During the Cyber Circuit, participants were able to meet with officials from the University System of Georgia, Invest Atlanta, the Development Authority of Columbia County, the Augusta Economic Development Authority, Augusta University, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the Georgia Department of Economic Development. It's a win-win for the state when we are able to provide a firsthand account of our incredible resources and partnerships that help the cybersecurity industry.. Thanks to incredible collaborations and strategic investment, the cybersecurity industry will continue to grow in Georgia, and protect business and personal assets all over the world.
