Georgia’s Exporters Recognized with the 2021 GLOBE Awards
The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) is pleased to announce the winners of the 8th Annual GLOBE Awards!
Georgia’s GLOBE Awards program began in 2014 as a way to recognize local businesses as they contribute to Georgia’s continued economic growth through global trade. Since the inception of the GLOBE Awards program, GDEcD has presented a cumulative 251 GLOBE Awards to companies located in 45 counties across the State of Georgia.
This year, GDEcD recognizes 17 Georgia companies as 2021 GLOBE Award winners. The 2021 recipients contributed significantly to the economic competitiveness of the State of Georgia through increased international sales last year, further cementing Georgia's status as the Top State for Business. The 2021 winners are located in 11 counties statewide, with local employment ranging from 2-500 employees. Approximately 82% of winners are small businesses with fewer than 100 employees and nearly 65% of the winners have fewer than 20 employees worldwide. Three of the 2021 winners exported for the first time in 2020, showcasing the dedication of Georgia small businesses towards growth and diversification.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, GLOBE winners collectively expanded their sales to six continents and 50 separate countries during calendar year 2020. 71% of GLOBE winners have worked with GDEcD’s export specialists for at least three years, and 82% of the GLOBE winners partnered with GDEcD in 2020 to supplement their international sales strategies with the unique export resources and consultations the Trade division offers.
This year, two companies are being specially distinguished with the Global Grit Award. These companies won five or more consecutive GLOBE awards and have demonstrated exceptional commitment to continual international expansion.
Congratulations to the 2021 GLOBE Award winners, Exporters of the Year, and Global Grit awardees! For more information about the 2021 winners, please visit here.
