Georgia’s Healthcare Exporters Represent at Arab Health 2020
Last month, Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Trade Outreach Manager, Maxine Bier, traveled with eight Georgia companies to exhibit in the Georgia, USA booth at the 2020 Arab Health tradeshow in Dubai, UAE. As the largest healthcare and medical device tradeshow in the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) region, this year’s Arab Health featured more than 4,200 companies with more than 55,000 attendees from 159 countries.
International trade shows, like Arab Health, provide Georgia companies with the opportunity to promote their products and services internationally and expand their global network. By allowing companies to co-exhibit within the Georgia, USA booth, Georgia small-to-medium sized exporters are able to more easily afford a space at high-profile shows like Arab Health.
In addition to exhibiting at a trade show, GDEcD Trade provides Georgia companies with additional benefits, such as customized B2B appointment setting provided by GDEcD’s international representatives, on-site logistics support and marketing assistance for show-related promotional materials.
GDEcD Trade also provides industry-specific export assistance leading up to the event and after its conclusion. Most recently, GDEcD Trade launched a new initiative to offer pre-show webinars led by industry and regional experts, which provides insights on market opportunities, industry overviews and tips for doing business in the region.
In 2019, Georgia exports of medical devices and pharmaceuticals exceeded $1.9 billion. With a strong product presence in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Egypt, Arab Health is the prime location in the MENA region to promote the cutting-edge products and services emerging from Georgia’s healthcare industry.
Georgia’s life science industry sector continues to show potential for rapid growth both domestically and abroad. Home to world-class assets for public health, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as headquarters for the American Cancer Society and American Red Cross, Georgia’s robust life science ecosystem positions the state as a hub for healthcare innovation.
