Georgia’s Latest Pre-Qualified Industrial Site Ideally Situated
In today’s reality when speed-to-market is key, one of the best ways communities and property owners can ensure their sites are prepared for quick development – and receive interest from companies – is to seek state-approved certification through the state’s “Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development” (GRAD) Certification Program.
The GRAD program provides business and site selectors a portfolio of pre-qualified industrial sites for which due diligence has been completed, making those sites more marketable in an on-demand world.
In early April, the latest Tier 1 Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) supplier Seohan Auto Georgia Corporation selected Tradeport East Business Center in Liberty County, Georgia, for its $72 million operation. In doing so, the international company joined fellow HMGMA Tier 1 suppliers in selecting GRAD Certified sites for their urgent needs, including Hyundai Mobis at Belfast Commerce Park in Bryan County and Seoyon E-HWA at the Savannah Chatham Manufacturing Center. These companies recognized quickly the benefits of a truly site-ready operation when meeting critical production deadlines in the race for consumer adoption.
Most recently, the Fitzgerald and Ben Hill County Development Authority worked together to ensure the 54-acre Forward Fitzgerald site at 351 Jacksonville Highway is primed for development. The new “GRAD – Select” certified site in Fitzgerald fronts U.S. Route 319, is situated less than 10 minutes from the Fitzgerald Municipal Airport, just 30 minutes from Interstate 75, and roughly two hours from both the Ports of Savannah and Brunswick. Additionally, the site will receive nearly $6 million in infrastructure enhancements, giving it some of the most modern infrastructure in South Georgia.
This certified location joins more than 65 locations, which are easy to find via Georgia Site Selector.
