scDataCom - 2022 Small Business Rock Star
When you walk in the door of scDataCom, you will instantly be greeted by a dog named Theo. However, his inquisitive sniffs aren’t the company’s first line of defense.
scDataCom was created by mother-daughter duo, Kathleen Ford and Alaina Meyer, and it remains a family-owned business to this day.
This Georgia company specializes in business security solutions through designing, installing, and maintaining security systems in the private and public sectors.
scDataCom calls Savannah home, and in fact the "sc" in their name stands for "Southern Coast." From a local standpoint, the company serves their community in a number of ways. They work with hospitals, the K-12 school systems, the Georgia Ports Authority, and a handful of other local small businesses in the area to keep them safe and secure.
Broadly, the team services Federal customers nationwide and has visited over 27 states to improve security at places like the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
scDataCom prides themselves in being a "women-owned" and "Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned" business and have been honored with a multitude of awards and certifications throughout the years. Before Kathleen was a co-founder to scDataCom, she served 26 years in the U.S. Army.
Their motto, "Our Business is protecting yours," shows their dedication to their community and customers. They have been awarded a number of awards including Security Sales & Integration’s "Small/Midsize Installer of the year" in 2021.
These qualities make us especially proud to name them a 2022 Rock Star!
