Carol Rayburn Cofer

Carol Rayburn Cofer is the Workforce Development Division Director for the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission.   As Workforce Development Division Director, she supervises staff responsible for the oversight and management of programs funded under the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) as well as other workforce development initiatives in the 12 county Northeast Georgia region.  Mrs. Cofer began working with Commission in 1982.  She has been the director of the job training/workforce development division since June 1994.  She serves as President of the Georgia WIOA Directors' Council and is a past president of the Southeastern Employment and Training Association and a 2012 Graduate of the Georgia Academy of Economic Development. Mrs. Cofer serves on several local advisory committees including the Athens Clarke Literacy Council and the Athens Community Career Academy.   She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from West Georgia College in 1982.  She and her husband, Stuart, reside in Oconee County and have 4 children and 2 granddaughters.
