Beyond CMMC
Beyond Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), do you know how cybersecurity impacts your business?
A recent industry survey, cited in a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) article, found that 90% of national respondents reported believed they were at risk of a supply chain attack. Despite this awareness, only 46% reported that managing this threat was a business priority. Here in Georgia, we have approximately 4,000 businesses within the $7.2 billion defense contracting sector. As the world continues to become more digital, these businesses will need to build their cyber resiliency to stay competitive.
On March 30, the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Technology Association of Georgia will host a conversation focused on this critical topic on every business leader’s mind. Roy Hadley Jr., a cybersecurity thought leader, special counsel at Adams and Reese, LLP, and Technology Association of Georgia Information Security (InfoSec) Chair, will provide practical advice for risk management, how to avoid data loss, talking to the C-Suite about cyber, and helpful stories from his work in the trenches helping businesses stay secure. We invite you to join our conversation at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30. Register at: bit.ly/3bBXQCW.
This opportunity is a service of the Georgia Defense Industrial Base Task Force, a partnership between the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG). The task force aims to support businesses moving toward the basic cyber hygiene requirements outlined in the CMMC and develops resources and monthly educational webinars to support progress toward the basic cyber hygiene outlined in the CMMC compliance. To find additional GDEcD resources, visit: www.georgia.org/cybersecurityedge. The TAG website has archived webinars on CMMC, which can be viewed at: www.tagonline.org/ga-dibt.
