MANUFACTURING

Major manufacturers like Lockheed Martin and Gulfstream Aerospace and their supply chains have ensured that aerospace products have continuously been Georgia's No. 1 international export. As the fifth-largest aerospace exporter in the U.S., with aerospace and defense exports totaling $11.1 billion in 2023, the state is a key player on the global stage. Aircraft and engine parts manufacturers like Pratt & Whitney, Qarbon Aerospace, PCC Airfoils, and more expand the state's manufacturing portfolio.

MAINTAINING SUCCESS

Geogia’s aerospace workforce includes over 13,500 certified mechanics, according to the FAA License Registration Database. Delta TechOps is the largest MRO in North America, and StandardAero and Pratt & Whitney also have thriving MRO enterprises in the state.

INFRASTRUCTURE & CONNECTIVITY

Georgia is a global gateway home to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the busiest and most efficient airport in the world, and the Port of Savannah, America’s largest and fastest-growing container terminal. Strategic sites like Innovation Isles Aerospace Park support development, while the state’s Advanced Air Mobility study outlines a future-focused blueprint for the industry.

“The expansion will allow us to work on larger Dassault Falcon, Gulfstream, and Bombardier aircraft and also meet the rapidly growing MRO needs of HTF7000 series engine operators.”
Tony Brancato, President of StandardAero Business Aviation
“Pratt & Whitney has been doing business in Georgia for nearly 40 years, and in that time, our Columbus business has grown from a small manufacturing facility to a large, state-of-the-art manufacturing and overhaul center, where we employ approximately 2,000 employees.”
Shane Eddy, President of Pratt & Whitney
“We couldn’t be happier with Covington as a location and partner for this significant next step in our company’s development and growth. We can’t wait to break ground in the coming months and begin this new chapter in Georgia.”
Glen Burks, Archer’s Vice President of Manufacturing
“We’re proud to continue to be an active part of Atlanta’s growing technology & defense community. Atlanta has a highly skilled and educated workforce in aerospace, engineering, and robotics.”
Matt Grimm, Chief Operating Officer of Anduril
