GDEcD’s International Trade Division is offering a complimentary webinar highlighting opportunities for Georgia companies in Brazil. Join us as we bring together a panel of experts who will discuss recent healthcare regulations and share their insights on how to market, distribute and sell your products in Brazil.
Experts from GDEcD’s Brazil office will address topics including:

- Telemedicine/Telehealth: In March 2020, the Federal Council of Medicine authorized the use of three tools in Brazil: teleorientation, telemonitoring, and teleconsultation
Brazil is the largest healthcare market in Latin America, the eighth in the world, and spends 9.1% of its GDP on healthcare. Seventy percent of the approximately 6,400 hospitals in Brazil are privately owned. There are almost 500,000 hospital beds, 96,000 supplementary healthcare services, 432,000 physicians, 144,000 dentists, 70,000 drugstores, and 8,000 compounding pharmacies. The aging population and emerging space for new disruptive technologies are trends signalling that healthcare is a promising sector for long-term investments, and offers opportunities for U.S. products and services. Other trends include primary care, blockchain, interoperability, supply chain, and dehospitalization.
Therapeutic respiration apparatus and medical instruments are among the top 5 categories exported from Georgia to Brazil. Exports from Georgia to Brazil have grown 143% in the last 20 years and Brazil is Georgia’s 12th largest export market. In 2019, total trade between Georgia and Brazil was more than $2.41 billion.
