Grip Business Keeps “a Lot of Local People Busy During Lean Times”

Macon native, Alan Rawkins, started Gentleman Grips to supply trucking and grip equipment for productions in Georgia. Founded in 1988, the company has grown from one truck to six 40-foot trucks and five truckloads of equipment. Rawkins points to the thriving film industry in Georgia for growing his business and giving him the opportunity to employ welders, truck drivers, and other local tradesmen for production contracts. “Stepping into the film industry has been a blessing. The business has been good to me, my family, and my entire family.”
