Walt Farrell is President and Chief Executive Officer of Atlanta Gas Light and Chattanooga Gas. In this role, Farrell serves on the Southern Company Gas Management Council and oversee all aspects of the company’s southern operations, bringing clean, safe, reliable and affordable natural gas to customers. Previously, Farrell served as Vice President of Community and Economic Development for Georgia Power, where he led efforts in business recruitment, community development, workforce development, and education. Before joining Georgia Power in 2015 as manager of Statewide Economic Development, Farrell served as Director of Advanced Manufacturing at the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), where he handled business recruitment and led the state’s industrial site certification process. He currently chairs the Georgia Lottery Corporation’s Board of Directors and serves as Treasurer of Leadership Georgia’s Board. Farrell holds an MBA from Auburn University and a BS in Finance and Marketing from Clemson University. He resides in Atlanta with his wife Emily and their three daughters.
