Contractor Creates New Career in Set Construction, Opens Studio
David Nash was a struggling remodeling contractor who decided to try his hand at set carpentry in the film industry. Today, he is the owner of his own studio, Wilder Studios, which has been fully booked since it opened in 2015 and holds a crew of over 200 people. David has even hired many of his friends in the housing construction industry who were looking to shift into film. A member of IATSE 479, he is often hired as the construction coordinator for many productions in and around Atlanta. “I have definitely been able to do better for my family because of Georgia’s film industry--and there continue to be more opportunity for more and more people...With Wilder Studios, I’m invested in the industry for the long-haul.”
