New Managing Director Takes Lead in Tokyo
Takao Yamamoto has been selected as the new Managing Director of the State of Georgia’s Japan office.
“Mr. Yamamoto’s wealth of experience reflects both aspects of the Japan office’s mission – helping companies enter the Japanese market and assisting Japanese companies with locating in international markets such as the U.S.,” said Deputy Commissioner of Global Commerce Misti Martin.
Takao Yamamoto brings over 30 years of experience in international business, with extensive management expertise, particularly in the food and beverage industry.
“Food and beverage is an area where we are seeing increased opportunities for economic exchange between Georgia and Japan, in addition to manufacturing, life sciences, and other industries,” shared Deputy Commissioner of Trade Lizann Grupalo.
“Mr. Yamamoto has also worked with the Japan External Trade Organization, which maintains an office in Georgia and has been a key partner in strengthening the state’s longstanding relationship with Japan and fostering our vibrant cross-cultural community,” added Director of International Investment Coryn Marsik.
