Kristin Laarhoven is the WIOA and Workforce Services Director at the Georgia Department of Labor, where she coordinates the department's statewide implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), a federal workforce grant administered by the United State Department of Labor. This role requires the management of One-Stop Operator contracts, coordination with the 19 local workforce development boards, negotiation of local contracts, funding mechanisms, etc., and development of local service delivery strategies and policy. Formerly, Laarhoven served as the Director of Programs at the Georgia Department of Economic Development's Workforce Division. As Programs Director, Laarhoven oversaw workforce policy and programs funded under WIOA. In addition to her role as the state's chief programs officer, Kristin also served as the liaison to the State Workforce Development Board.
Laarhoven lives in Atlanta, Georgia. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia in Political Science and is an active member of the Georgia Bar.
