Georgia's business success rests on transportation infrastructure assets
If there is one message Matt Markham wants to get across, it is that Georgia’s logistics assets are a key part of why the state continues to be No. 1 for business.
“The state’s comprehensive road, rail and air freight network allow Georgia companies to reach 80 percent of the U.S. market within a two-day drive or a two-hour flight,” said Markham, director of the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Center of Innovation for Logistics and a presenter at the March 14 Georgia Logistics Summit Regional Forum in Cartersville. “Add in the fourth-largest and fastest-growing seaport in the nation, and our state has all the components companies need to be competitive in the global marketplace.”
