Chairman of the Economic Development & Tourism Committee in the Georgia House of Representatives

State Representative Ron Stephens (R-Savannah) represents Georgia’s 164th District and is the Chairman of the House Economic Development & Tourism Committee. He has served in the House for 21 years and is also a member of the Appropriations, Rules, and Ways and Means Committees. Rep. Stephens holds a degree in Pharmacy from Armstrong State & Mercer University and has spent 38 years as a pharmacist. He was appointed to the Georgia Tourism Foundation Board by Governor Nathan Deal in 2013 and co-authored the first floating homestead exemption in Georgia. He and his wife Janice have two daughters, three grandchildren, and are members of Richmond Hill Baptist Church.
