Rick Toller, APR, serves as Chief Marketing Officer for the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD). He manages all marketing and communications efforts to attract investment and promote diverse industry growth across businesses of all sizes, supporting GDEcD’s mission to create jobs and opportunities for Georgians.

Toller’s focus is on delivering strong, competitive storytelling about the No. 1 State for Business that leverages Georgia’s diverse strengths across industry, innovation, arts and culture, and landscapes to attract and grow investment, trade, and tourism.

Toller brings more than 25 years of experience advising organizations in regulated and reputation-sensitive sectors, including healthcare, financial services, and utilities. He has held C-suite marketing and corporate communications roles, as well as long-term executive advisory positions supporting CEOs through periods of growth and increased visibility. For more than two decades, he co-led three, an integrated marketing and communications agency, where he drove business strategy, oversaw public relations, advertising, and creative initiatives, and cultivated a unique corporate culture.

In these roles, he has led brand and marketing strategy, executive and internal communications, and organization-wide projects that bring together diverse stakeholders and regions to determine and advance shared goals. Toller’s background includes both enterprise and advisory settings, where he set clear priorities to deliver positive outcomes. 

A graduate of the University of Florida, Rick and his wife, Allison, live in Atlanta. They have two adult children.
