WorkSmart Program Options

Registered Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship is a work-based training method that combines formal instruction with on-site, occupation-related training. Apprentices typically work 30-40 hours per week and receive classroom training through part-time attendance at technical colleges, universities or approved training providers.

Using the apprentice model can help businesses grow their own talent and build a motivated and qualified workforce. Employers use apprentice programs to recruit and train new employees and to upskill their current workforce.

Youth Apprenticeship
Georgia's Youth Apprenticeship is a work-based learning program offered to eligible high school and College and Career Academy students and administered by the Georgia Department of Education. The program enables students to receive a high school diploma, industry-specific training, and post-secondary certificate or diploma upon graduation.

Internship
An internship is a work experience that integrates academic study with hands-on training. Generally internships are short-term experiences that correspond to an academic semester.
