Both the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and the University System of Georgia (USG) achieved record-breaking enrollment in 2025, signaling strong momentum in building the state’s talent pipeline.

TCSG graduated 47,496 students in 2025, the highest number in its history, with total credit hours surpassing 1 million for the first time. Meanwhile, USG reached an all-time high with more than 334,000 students enrolled across its campuses statewide. These milestones reflect that Georgia’s commitment to being a Top State for Talent

Creating Clear Pathways to Post-Secondary Education

One of the most innovative examples of this approach is GEORGIA MATCH, a statewide initiative making the path to higher education clearer than ever. Featured in Site Selection’s recent article, “A Ticket to Opportunity,” GEORGIA MATCH helps high school seniors across Georgia turn possibility into a plan.

GEORGIA MATCH is helping build a stronger workforce across every region of the state in industries driving Georgia’s growth, from life sciences to advanced manufacturing, logistics, and film. It complements initiatives such as Georgia Quick Start and TCSG’s hands-on training programs, offering students multiple ways to succeed beyond high school.

Removing Barriers

GEORGIA MATCH is powered by the Georgia Student Finance Commission in collaboration with the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget, the Department of Education, and the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement. Together, these agencies are making it easier for students to take the next step, whether that’s earning a certificate, a technical diploma, or a four-year degree.

Using a student’s HOPE GPA and test scores, GEORGIA MATCH shows which TCSG and USG schools are possible fits. And during special GEORGIA MATCH Days, students can apply to participating institutions for free.

It’s a simple change with a major impact. By eliminating the complexity, GEORGIA MATCH makes post-secondary education feel more practical and possible.
