Workforce Development in Georgia
The Center of Innovation supports building the next generation workforce in two primary ways. We connect Georgia manufacturers to the state’s various workforce development programs to efficiently address specific needs. From top-ranking colleges and universities to Georgia Quick Start — the No. 1 workforce development program in the country — Georgia invests in preparing talent. Technical College System of Georgia
The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) oversees the state’s 22 technical colleges that have a total of 88 campuses as well as adult literacy programs and a host of economic and workforce development programs. TCSG provides a unified system of technical education, adult education, and customized business and industry training through programs that use the best available technology and offer easy access to lifelong education and training.

Quick Start
Workforce training in Georgia is provided through several initiatives, but the state's signature program is Georgia Quick Start, a free program customized for companies in numerous industries. The oldest program of its kind in the U.S., Quick Start has updated the skill sets of more than 1 million employees in 6,500 projects. Quick Start helps companies maintain a competitive advantage by preparing workers for skill sets needed tomorrow as well as today.

Talent Pipeline
Georgia is home to nearly 60 public and private colleges that provide ample supply to the manufacturing workforce. Both Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia rank in the top 15 of best public schools in the nation. Georgia Tech also holds several top rankings related to engineering including the #4 Best Undergraduate Engineering Program, the #1 Industrial/Systems Manufacturing Engineering program, the #2 Mechanical Engineering program, and the #4 Materials Science and Engineering program. In addition, Georgia Southern University has the state’s only Manufacturing Engineering program and their College of Engineering has nearly 4,000 students enrolled.
