BrazilBrazil is one of the leading economies in Latin America with half of its population of approximately 200 million considered middle class and around 16 million at the top of the social pyramid. These top consumers are somewhat insulated from economic downturns and remain a primary target for US exporters. As Brazilians change their tastes and consumption habits with this expanding middle and upper- class, this opens up new opportunities for US suppliers. Target products for meetings with buyers from Brazil include, but are not limited to: gourmet products, condiments and sauces, grains and cereals, olive oils, snacks foods, health food products, fruit & vegetable juices, frozen meals, confectionery products, pet foods.

south africaSouth Africa, with a population of approximately 56 million people, has a market-oriented economy, well-developed infrastructure, and a growing consumer demand for value-added foods. It is highly diversified and self-sufficient in primary foods, except for wheat, oilseeds, and rice, and has a well-developed processed food sector and competitive horticulture sector. Additionally, limitations in some of South Africa’s agro-processing sectors combined with increasing consumer demand, has driven import growth for consumer oriented foods/beverages. Target products for meetings with buyers from South Africa include, but are not limited to: snack foods, poultry products (eggs), nuts (especially almonds), prepared foods, breakfast cereals, baby foods, bread products.
