Jeff Mather
A community-based public artist and teaching artist in Georgia (and SC and MA and UT) for over 30 years.
- Site sculptor coaching collaborative environmental sculpture projects.
- On the Georgia Council for the Arts roster of visiting artists since 1992.
- Received a BA degree in Proxemics from Hobart College.
- Served as board president of the Atlanta Partnership for Arts in Learning, an arts infusion non-profit co-founded with Dr. Lisa Delpit, Alice Lovelace, and Jane Fonda in 2001.
- Directed experimental object theater productions at the Center for Puppetry Arts and served as artist-in-residence for the Atlanta Symphony and the High Museum.
- Served as STEAM artist-in-residence at Drew Charter School for 90 days each year.
- Received two Innovation Awards from the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement for STEAM partnership work at Drew Charter.
- Served in Innovator role for the International Teaching Artists Collaborative.
- Coached more community-based public art projects across Georgia than any other artist.
- Producer of annual Performative STEAM community event at Drew Charter every April.
- Co-founded the Creative Health Arts Collective for artists entering the Social Prescribing of Arts field.
- Teaching Experience: Served as artist-in-residence at over 200 schools.
- Digital storytelling coach - created digital storytelling programs for the Woodruff Art Center and for APAL (Atlanta Partnership for Arts for Learning)
- Digital storytelling coach for nine years at the South Atlanta School of Law & Social Justice.
- Co-designed and co-taught units in World History, Math, Chemistry/Physics, Robotics, and Special Ed.
- Designed, anchored, and facilitated PD retreats for teaching artists from all disciplines.
