What is a GRAD-Certified Site?
The Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) Certification program’s establishes a portfolio of pre-qualified industrial sites across Georgia that are “shovel-ready.” The sites must be approved by a board of public and private economic development professionals based on set criteria and due diligence qualifications. Since its inception in 2008, over 10,000 jobs have been created on GRAD sites.
Categories of due diligence include:
- Phase I environmental assessment
- Preliminary geotechnical investigation
- Cultural and endangered species investigation
- Zoning designation
- Utility service assessment
- Wetlands and stream delineation
Communities interested in participating in the GRAD program can follow a simple five-step process that remains the same for new and renewing applications.
