Georgia’s commitment to preparing our future workforce is evident: the four-year graduation rate for 2025 rose to 87.2%, a sign of strengthening readiness for postsecondary education or employment.

Since 1993, the HOPE Scholarship and related financial aid programs have helped 2.1 million Georgians attend college or pursue technical training.

In 2024, the state launched the GEORGIA MATCH program to make it easier for students to take the next step toward high-quality employment. Today, high school seniors receive proactive notification about their eligibility to attend specific Georgia public colleges, universities, and technical colleges, streamlining the admissions process and reducing barriers to higher education. Results already show the program is working. More than 40 charter school systems span the state, and numerous schools have achieved national recognition for academics or focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and the Arts (STEAM) programming. The University System of Georgia is home to 26 institutions, including four research universities, and the Technical College System of Georgia comprises 22 colleges with 88 campuses across the state, making accessibility to higher education easy. Georgia’s collaborative approach to economic development means that meetings with workforce development partners is an everyday part of the customized location or expansion process
