Southbridge Consulting: Georgia’s Trade Representation in Chile, Peru, and Argentina

Southbridge Consulting continues the state’s international trade representation in Chile, Peru, and Argentina.   

“Georgia’s small- and medium-sized exporting businesses are becoming more and more interested in South American markets,” said GDEcD Deputy Commissioner of Trade Lizann Grupalo. “Recent trade missions to these markets have underscored the value that our businesses find in meeting in-person, and Managing Director Barbara Prado and her team stood out for their experience in not only assisting exporters but also in supporting these missions.”

The representatives assisted four Georgia-based companies with coordinating 26 in-market meetings with prospective partners during an economic development mission to Chile and Peru. Representatives from Chile, Peru and Argentina are also slated to travel to Georgia in the fall to hold one-on-one meetings with interested exporters in the state.

Georgia’s connections with Chile, Peru, and Argentina at a glance:  

• Chile maintains an honorary consul in Atlanta, and Georgia has held continuous representation in Chile since 2005. In 2025, Georgia exports to Chile totaled $761 million.  
• Peru has maintained a consular presence in Georgia since 1995, and the state has maintained representation in Peru since 2018. In 2025, Georgia exports to Peru totaled $203 million.  
• Argentina first established a consular presence in Georgia in 1899. In 2025, Georgia exports to Argentina totaled $359 million, more than double compared to the prior year.
