Georgia Healthcare Exporters, Economic Development Department Represent at 2022 Arab Health Exhibition
In January, Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) Senior International Trade Manager Maxine Bier traveled with six Georgia medical device manufacturing companies to co-exhibit in the Georgia, USA booth at the 2022 Arab Health Exhibition in Dubai, UAE. Arab Health is the largest healthcare and medical device tradeshow in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region, and this year’s tradeshow featured over 2,800 companies from 70 countries.
GDEcD’s International Trade division provides resources for Georgia exporters to help them grow their international business and expand into various markets across the globe. They do this by participating in international trade shows like Arab Health, providing Georgia companies with opportunities to promote their products and services as well as expand their global network.
By co-exhibiting within the Georgia, USA booth, Georgia small business exporters are not only able to more easily afford space at the high-profile event, but connect with key contacts, meet new business contacts, and receive follow-up assistance from GDEcD. In addition, the companies are listed in the official Arab Health show catalogue, and included in GDEcD show-related promotion.
Georgia’s participation in the event was supported by Go Global Georgia, a partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration that provides reimbursement-based grant awards to eligible Georgia exporters for pre-approved export activities.
In addition to programs like Go Global Georgia, the International Trade division offers other programs and services to Georgia exporters including customized export counseling and support from the State’s international representatives located in 12 strategic markets. Additional services include interactive digital tools, partner resources, incoming buyer delegations, financial assistance, and more.
Georgia is home to over 550 medical device companies, and “medical instruments” was one of the state’s top export categories in 2021, bringing in $998.7 million in revenue. The state has a strong product presence in the MENA region, making Arab Health a prime location to promote the in-demand services and products that Georgia’s healthcare industry offers.
Georgia companies that participated in the 2022 Arab Health tradeshow include:
- Chemence Medical
- GF Health Products, Inc.
- Pain Care Labs
- Poriferous, LLC
- Marena
- Smisson-Cartledge Biomedical LLC
