Since 2012, the Governor’s Awards for the Arts and Humanities have recognized Georgians who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to work in these fields. Presented by the Office of the Governor in partnership with Georgia Council for the Arts and Georgia Humanities, the awards exemplify the positive impact the arts and humanities have on the state's economy, educational opportunities, innovation, growth, and quality of life.

Citizens of Georgia nominate outstanding individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to Georgia’s civic and cultural vitality. Recipients reflect a diverse group whose work has bolstered Georgia’s thriving creative industries through community involvement, pioneering programs, and long-term financial commitment.

"Georgia is proud of our world-renowned arts and entertainment scene which has supported our state's thriving economy for decades. The talented individuals and organizations recognized this year have played a key role in those efforts, and we are grateful for their impact on their local communities and our state as a whole.”
