Emergency Preparedness Resources
The following organizations work with arts organizations to insure you and your assets are prepared and protected from disasters.
Alliance of Artist Communities
The Alliance can offer support for artists by connecting them with our diverse network of residency programs across the country.
ArtsReady
ArtsReady is an online emergency preparedness and response tool for arts and cultural organizations, regardless of size, scope, or discipline.
Authors League Fund
Offers no-strings-attached “loans” for professional writers in financial need due to health-related issues. Repayment of this emergency support is not required.
The Craft Emergency Relief Fund
Serving craft artists through emergency relief, preparedness, education, and advocacy. Emergency Relief Grants - CERF+ provides a grant of up to $3,000 for disaster relief.
Entertainment Assistance Fund
Formerly the Actors Fund, provides emergency assistance to professional artists facing professional or work related problems. Eligible applicants include but are not limited to – actors, dancers, musicians, stagehands, playwrights, those working behind the scenes and below the line.
Gottlieb Foundation
The Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant provides interim financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors.
Heritage Emergency National Task Force (HENTF) | Cultural Rescue Initiative
A public-private partnership between Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Smithsonian Institution, who is supporting response and recovery efforts the arts and culture sector as well as the public.
MusiCares
MusiCares provides a safety net for musicians.
Current Grants | Robert Rauschenberg Foundation
The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation provides support for artists creating their own, independent work, with recent and ongoing opportunities for the public to experience that work. Currently offering one time grants for medical emergencies, and for dancers.
Writers Emergency Assistance Fund
WEAF offers grants to professional freelance writers who, because of illness, disability, natural disaster, or extraordinary professional crisis, are unable to work.
