Film and TV Production
A leading destination for film and television projects, Georgia provides everything productions need – from skilled crew and diverse locations to state-of-the-art facilities. From blockbusters “Avengers: End Game” and “Black Panther” to long-running fan favorites “The Walking Dead” and “The Vampire Diaries” to classics like “Forrest Gump” and “Fried Green Tomatoes,” Georgia’s diverse filmography is a testament to the state’s long-term investments in the industry.
Established by then-Governor Jimmy Carter in 1973 after seeing the significant economic impact of the film “Deliverance,” which was shot in Rabun County, the Georgia Film Office has played a starring role in the industry’s growth in Georgia. The Film Office’s mission is to attract film and television projects, and the infrastructure to support them, to the State. Location scouting, logistic support, and certifying projects under the Film Tax Credit are all services the Film Office provides to projects free of charge.
